Prayer Guide

Daily Prayer Guide

Christians pray throughout the day at any time when they have a need or notice something to repent of. When we are able to set aside a special time just for prayer, we could include the following 5  parts:

1. Praise and Thanksgiving; it puts our focus off of self and on to God.

 2. Repentance, so we enter prayer knowing we are cleansed of sin and guilt

3. Asking  for Guidance

4. Asking for Strength (to resist temptation and do God’s will)

5. Intercession  (prayer for others)

Intercession pages:

Following is a way to pray regularly for people without being overwhelmed each day. This approach enabled my wife and I to have a regular payer time together without the problem of running out of things to say. Using this system helped us to pray for everyone we know over a period of time, yet this system did not prevent us from saying other prayers as they came to mind.

Write each category in bold print listed below on a separate sheet of lined paper. Once you have filled in the names you desire on each page, you can pray for one item on each page per day, putting the date in order to keep track.  (or you can use the ready to print links found after this list):

Family members by generation (use the applicable categories): Great grandparents, Grandparents, grandaunts, granduncles,Parents, aunts, uncles, Siblings, cousins, Children, nieces, nephews, second cousins, Grandchildren, grandnieces and grand nephews, Great grandchildren (especially noting non Christians and those I am sponsor for).

Colleagues (co-workers, authorities over you, frequently seen merchants; school-mates)

Friends (Neighbors, Club members, Organization members (including church groups)

Church: Congregation Staff and Members (Ephesians 6:18) ()You can list those you know, or use the church directory).Note those with special needs, also Church throughout the world, and Regional Church Officials

Missionaries  (Romans 1:8) (Get list from your church body. We use cards, one a day)

Government  1Timothy 2:1-2  (Federal, State, and Local officials)

World Areas and Their Leaders. We pray for one region each day: North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, South Pacific

Headline News  (James 5:13) — current needs of country and world
Conflicts, War, Corruption. Calamityies Revival

Our Enemies  (Luke 6:27-28)  Personal as well as National. Also for persecuted believers AND THEIR PERSECUTORS.

Daily prayers — People who are so needy you want to pray for them every day

 Lists of Answered Prayer

You perhaps will think of additional categories. For some of these, we ended up with several sheets of paper. By continuing to pray for only one person each day in each category, we were able to keep from becoming mechanical by praying for the sane thing every day. We could concentrate on the people of that day without worrying that we were leaving others out, but over time no one was left out. We could do this in a reasonable amount of time without thinking that we were stealing from the tasks God had given us for the day.
